SAN BALANCE®
Starting from sustainable and circular raw materials such as plant oils and by-products of the agri-food industry, Versalis produces SAN Kostil® Bio based grades that are part of the BALANCE® product family.
SAN BALANCE® grades have a 75% share of Bio based raw material, certified according to the ISCC + scheme.
Kostil®, Styrene-Acrylonitrile (SAN) copolymer by Versalis is a thermoplastic material widely used both for extrusion and injection molding in various sectors due to its excellent and peculiar properties of high transparency, rigidity and hardness, resistance to chemical agents, dimensional stability, color brilliance and the lowest residual monomer content on the market.
Description
SAN Kostil® is available in standard transparent colors, including natural, bluish and water clear. On request it can be supplied in other transparent or opaque color shades.
The production of SAN Kostil BALANCE® is part of a circular economy model since the bio-naphtha used to produce the polymers derives from waste or by-products of industrial processing of organic substances (exhausted oils and fats) that don’t impact on the food supply chain.
